Week 1

The first week of class, my classmates and I watched a film about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the film depicts the origins of the dispute, as well as giving examples about why the American occupation has only delayed resolving the situation. It is believed that many upper class Americans don't understand about the struggles people are facing in the Middle East; they just need to realize the exploitation of  recourses and for the future development of their companies and profits.  Anyone who believes in justice and the freedoms of others, moreover that all people are created  equal should consider the role journalism, and how it plays an important piece for society in spreading the truth, self awareness. The film was a good eye opener for those who don't know much about Islam, and will hopefully  motivate them to want to research the struggle and have a better understanding of global issues.  Moreover, the film showed that globally and economically the actions in the Middle East effect everyone; we are all effected.

I'm really looking forward to this class, learning about the connections between these three different religions will be a new experience and also I find the way that Islam has spread around the world, creating its own unique traditions, as well as the conflict between Palestinian Israel.

  1. i agree with you, u brought up some good questions, such as the relationships between the three religions, aren't they created in the god's favor, for human to follow him, so if Muslim, christains, or jewish, we all have different ways of approching god, but at the same time, we all aiming for the same god.

  2. I think this movie was a real eye opener for anyone who little or nothing about the Israel-Palestinian conflict. I also agree with your view that this conflict affects everyone across the global because today the world is very interdependent and as a result we cannot isolate a region because it would probably affect us (the U.S. for example) economically.
